Description:

At the designated time you will be picked up from the hotel in the city of Chiclayo and then you will be transported in a private vehicle to the town of Lambayeque. This short trip only lasts 15 minutes. Upon arrival, our local guide will guide you inside this huge concrete pyramid, following a sequence of levels that will allow you to experience the same sensation archeologist felt in the process of the investigation and discovery of the royal tombs of Sipan. We start off our tour at the level 3. On this level we will learn in a thematic way about the archaeological discoveries that took place in this region and also about the evolution, social organization, religion and political structure of the Mochica culture. Then we will go on level 2, in which we will see through impressive pictures the precise moments of the discovery of the graves of Sipan. We will see a faithful reproduction of the grave of the Lord of Sipan, exactly as it was seen by the archaeologists at the moment of his discovery. You will see in details its complete funeral chamber, with its wooden coffin at the center adorned with gold and other precious metals, his concubines, sacrificed slaves, even a child and a dog, no doubt companions for the afterlife.
Later on we will continue to the level one, where you will find the oldest lord of Sipan. At this room you will see amazing jewelry, mainly ornaments made of gold representing animal divinities, such as crabs and octopus, creatures they believed to be important.  Finally we will visit a huge room where you will see a recreation of a ceremony led by the lord of Sipan himself accompanied by all his entourage (dummies), including natural sounds made with local musical instruments. Afterwards, we will return to the city of Chiclayo. End of the tour.

• On this tour you must bring light clothing, as the weather in Chiclayo used to be a bit hot, especially in summer time (from December to March) when temperatures can reach 30º C.
• If doing this tour during winter time (June to August) bring warm clothing as it could be a bit cold or windy.
