FULL DAY TOUR TO THE HUACACHINA OASIS AND THE NAZCA LINES DEPARTING FROM LIMA.

Tour description:

05:00 hrs. You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima by our representative. Afterwards we will leave to the city of Ica. The trip lasts about 4 hours. Once we reach the city of Ica you will be conducted to the Huacachina Oasis located some 5 kms away from downtown. At the Huacachina Oasis we will explore the surrounding desert by a dune buggy machine. During the excursion we will make various stops along the way for pictures. The desert of Ica is the most beautiful in our country and offers stunning landscapes, not only of sand dunes, but also of the Huacachina lagoon, from above. There will be some points where you will have the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of one of most popular sports in Ica “Sandboarding”. Our driver will take you to the summit of some dunes, and from the very top you will be able to slide down. Before you start to sand surf, our guide/instructor will teach you specific techniques to ensure a safety ride. There are actually plenty spots to sandboard around Huacachina Oasis, with a wide variety of dunes, suitable for the very beginners, as well as for professional sand boarders. Keep in mind that on this tour you will not have to walk up the dunes to go for a second or a third ride, our driver will do all the lifting job for you. The dune buggy tour lasts 1 hour. Afterwards we will get back to the Huacachina Oasis and will board our private vehicle again to continue our trip to the city of Nazca. (2 hours). Once in Nazca, you will be led to the local airdrome from where you will take a small plane to fly over the Nazca Lines. Prior the flight you will watch a video film about the Nazca Lines that will allow you get a better understanding of the archaeologicl zone you are about to see. This interesting documentary lasts about 40 minutes and involves serious information about the Nazca Culture, as well as the figures you will see from the air. For this aerial tour, you will board a small Cessna single-engine aircraft (Station air, Sky hawk or Skyline type), which has spacious room for 5 people, each person with a window seat. After the video, our English speaking pilot will proceed to give you a briefing about this air tour and also will give each participant a map of the archaeological zone, which shows all the figures you will see from the air. Among the figures, you will see an impressive representation of a monkey, a whale, a spider, a hummingbird, a parrot, a condor, geometrical shapes and hundreds of straight lines crisscrossing the Nazca desert. After the flight, you will be transferred to a local restaurant in Nazca town where you will have lunch. Soon after our lunch, we will drive back to Lima, visiting along the way the Nazca Lines Metallic Tower to see 2 of the famous Nazca Lines. We will arrive in Lima around 22:00 hrs. Upon your arrival you will be dropped off at your hotel.

• On this tour you must bring light clothing, as the weather on the southern coast used to be very hot, especially in summer time (from December to March) when temperatures can reach 35 º C / 104 ºF sometimes.
