Paracas reserve and the ballestas islandS 2 DAYS PROGRAM FROM LIMA.

Program: 2 days / 1 night

Day 1º: Private car to the Paracas Bay.

09:00 hrs. You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima and then transferred by private car to the Paracas Bay located some 3 hours south of Lima. Upon arrival you will be first taken to the hotel to do the check in and get some rest. 13:30 h. we will go out towards the Paracas Reserve where we will explore its attractions. During our excursion you will visit the centre of interpretation of Paracas, an interesting building that displays through photos, all the fauna, flora, and many other important facts about the Paracas Peninsula.Since we will be there around lunch time, we will take you to a nice beach where there are good restaurants overlooking the ocean. Afterwards we will drive to the Paracas Peninsula, driving throughout a lifeless desert till we reach an area where once stood a great natural rock formation known as the Cathedral. Unfortunately this old formation did not withstand the 2007 earthquake that virtually left in ruins most of the cities near that zone. At the place our local guide will give you more details about it and then you will have free time to walk along the edge of the peninsula. At this zone you will have amazing views of the desert and the blue Pacific Ocean. Finally we wil return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel Posada del Emancipador *** or similar.

Day 2º: Ballestas Islands - Return to Lima.

07:45 hrs. You will be picked up from your hotel in Paracas and then transferred to the dock of Paracas where we will take a speed boat to visit the Ballestas Islands. During our boat excursion to the Islands you will see many attractions, among them, stands out a huge design etched on the slope of hill, known by the local people as The Candelabra. This is an enormous figure that can be seen clearly from the sea. Our local guide will explain the most important theories concerning this drawing. Afterwards, we will continue our excursion around the Ballestas Islands, where you will see hundreds of birds flying (Peruvian Bobbies, Inca terms, Pelicans, Cormorants and others) above the Islands, as well as dozens of sea lions on the shore of the beaches, and if you are lucky you also can see the famous Humboldt Penguins and dolphins swimming nearby. It is not allowed to land on the Island, which means you will spend all the tour on the boat. The whole tour takes about 2 hours. Later on we will return to the mainland and at the dock our local representative will transfer you to the hotel. You will have some free time to rest at the hotel or simply visit the local markets nearby. 12:00 h. You will be picked up from the hotel and then travel back to the city of Lima. On route our driver will stop at a good and nice restaurant for lunch (lunch at your own expense). We will arrive in Lima around 17:30 h. Upon arrival our driver will drop you off at your hotel. End of our service.

• 08:00 h. Boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands. (2 hours)
• 12:00 h. Return to Lima by private car.

Recommendations:

• On this tour you must bring warm clothing or just a wind breaker, as it gets very windy once the boat gets in motion. Bring sun block to avoid sun burning, sun glasses and a cap.
