This is a program especially designed for those travellers with short time in Peru. We offer you an aerial service departing from the airport Jorge Chavez in Lima towards the city of Ica in a pleasant short flight. In the city of Ica we will switch to a smaller plane especially designed with delta wings to fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines. Besides the Nazca overflight, we will also tour around the city of Ica, visiting its Regional Museum of Archaeology where you will be able to see ancient remains that belonged to the various cultures that flourished in Peru some 2500 years ago. Our program also includes the visit to the Huacachina oasis, a nice spot surrounded by huge dunes.

Tour description:

06:30 h. You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima and then will be transferred to the airport in Lima to take the flight to the city of Ica. The flight to Ica takes about 1 hour and offers great panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the coastal line. Once we had landed in Ica you will be led to our video room where you will watch an interesting documentary about the Nazca Lines. This interesting documentary lasts about 40 minutes and involves serious information about the Nazca Culture, as well as the figures you will see from the air. For this aerial tour, you will board a small Cessna single-engine aircraft which has spacious room for 12 people, each person with a window seat. After the video, our English speaking pilot will proceed to give you a briefing about this air tour and also will give each participant a map of the archaeological zone, which shows all the figures you will see from the air. Among the figures, you will see an impressive representation of a monkey, a whale, a spider, a hummingbird, a parrot, a condor, geometrical shapes and hundred of straight lines crisscrossing the Nazca desert. The flight over the Nazca Lines lasta 1 hour with 10 minutes. After the flight, our guide representative will meet you at the airport and then we will start our city tour in Ica. We will visit the Regional Museum of Ica, an interesting building that houses the remains of the ancient cultures that developed on the southern coast. We will start our visit, walking through the pre-Inca rooms, which display fine textiles from the Paracas people, wonderful pieces from the Nazca culture, featuring amazing musical instruments and great pictures of the Nazca Lines. Here we will also see some spectacular weapons and would carvings from the Wari Empire, Ica Chincha and Inca culture. On the other side of the Museum, we will visit the anthropological room, which exhibits human remains from the same cultures mentioned above, featuring deformed skulls, cranial surgery practiced on ancient Peruvians, beautiful head-dresses, well preserve mummies, including babies and trophy heads. Afterwards we will drive southwest towards the Oasis of La Huacachina, a gorgeous lagoon surrounded by palm trees and huge san dunes. Here our clients will be able to have lunch around this beautiful lagoon, and climb one of sand dunes to practice one the ultimate sports in our country “Sandboarding”. Later on you will be taken to the Hotel Las Dunas where you will have lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax, and then at around 5:00 pm we will take our plane back to Lima. Upon your arrival in Lima you will be met by a representative from Mystery Peru and then you will transfer to your hotel in Lima.

Recommendations:

• On this tour you must bring light clothing, as the weather on the southern coast used to be very hot, especially in summer time (from December to March) when temperatures can reach 40º C / 104 ºF sometimes.
• We suggest to bring sun block to avoid sun burning, a hat, a bottle of water and sun glasses.
