Our Nazca Lines & Paracas Program allows you to visit the 3 most important tourist attractions of the south of Peru. On this package you will travel from Lima to Paracas aboard a comfortable tourist bus. In Paracas we offer you a boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, a wonderful array of small islands where you will see dozens of sea lions and hundreds of marine birds including Humboldt penguins, pelicans, boobies and many others marine especies. On this journey we will also visit the vineyards of Pisco and the Huacachina Lagoon in Ica aboard a private machine. In Nazca you will board a small plane to fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines and also will visit one of the most bizarre ancient graveyards of Peru.

Day 1º : Ballestas Islands - Paracas - Vineyards of Pisco - Huacachina Oasis

04:00 h . You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima and then transferred to the bus station of Cruz del Sur where you will board the Cruzero Tourist service to the bay of Paracas. The bus ride last about 3 hours till the Paracas Bay. At the Paracas Bay you will be met by our local guide at the station and afterwards you will be transferred to the Paracas port where you will board a speed boat to visit the Ballestas Islands. During our boat excursion to the Islands you will see many attractions, among them, stands out a huge design etched on the slope of hill, known by the local people as The Candelabra. This is an enormous figure that can be seen clearly from the sea. Our local guide will explain the most important theories concerning this drawing. Afterwards, we will continue our excursion around the Ballestas Islands, where you will see hundreds of birds flying (Peruvian Bobbies, Inca terms, Pelicans, Cormorants and others) above the Islands, as well as dozens of sea lions on the shore of the beaches, and if you are lucky you also can see the famous Humboldt Penguins and dolphins swimming nearby. It is not allowed to land on the Island, which means you will spend all the tour on the boat. After our visit to the islands, we will explore by land some beautifull beaches of the Paracas Reserve. Later on, we will continue our journey to the City of Ica, where we will visit the vineyards of Pisco (a grape brandy) and the famous Oasis called Huacachina. The huge white sand dunes surrounding the lagoon are perfect to practice one of the most exciting sports in the area "Sandboarding". After our visit in Huacachina, we will continue our trip to Nazca. Overnight in Nazca at the hotel Casa Andina *** or similar.

Day 2 º : Flight over the Nazca Lines - Chauchilla Cemetery - Bus to Lima

08:00 h . You will be picked up from your hotel and then will be transferred to the airdrome of Nazca to fly over the Nazca drawings. Prior the flight you will watch a video film about the Nazca Lines that will allow you get a better understanding of the archaeologicl zone you are about to see. This interesting documentary lasts about 40 minutes and involves serious information about the Nazca Culture, as well as the figures you will see from the air. For this aerial tour, you will board a small Cessna single-engine aircraft (Station air, Sky hawk or Skyline type), which has spacious room for 5 people, each person with a window seat. After the video, our English speaking pilot will proceed to give you a briefing about this air tour and also will give each participant a map of the archaeological zone, which shows all the figures you will see from the air. Among the figures, you will see an impressive representation of a monkey, a whale, a spider, a hummingbird, a parrot, a condor, geometrical shapes and hundred of straight lines crisscrossing the Nazca desert. Afterwards, we will visit the pre-Inca graveyard of Chauchilla. For many years this pre Inca place was looted by treasure hunters, who ransacked the place completely, taking away all the treasures the mummies kept in their tombs for centuries. These grave robbers just left behind the corpses, which can be seen today all over the ground. In addition to skulls and bones, you also can see several tombs centuries old, as well as long human hairs, ceramic fragments and others remains scattered on the desert surface. After touring around we go back to Nazca to visit a ceramic studio, where a craftsman will give us a better insight about the Nazca civilization and the colorful vessels they made hundreds of years ago. At 14:00 h, after lunch, you will be transferred to the bus station to take a bus to the City of Lima. You will arrive in Lima approximatelly at 20:30 h. Upon your arrival you will be met by our representative at the bus station who will transfer you to your hotel.

Recommendations:

• On this tour you must bring light clothing, as the weather on the southern coast used to be very hot, especially in summer time (from December to March) when temperatures can reach 40º C / 104 ºF sometimes.
• We suggest to bring sun block to avoid sun burning, a hat, a bottle of water and sun glasses.
